I don't know 60 mins+ if they are still buys,I have no crystal ball,I'm just playing what I saw at the moment,reacting to it...I'm using a trailing stop most times by then and looking to get out with a decent profit.

Shorted on red as LCAPA looked to me as it was going on a breakdown after going from 3.33 to a high of 5.13 Wednesday.
Wrong again.
But still 10 out of 12 with real good gains on the winners on a day described by one as "boring"

As posted last night I was o/n long ANPI and AVR short.
Both worked out awesome.Sold ANPI today at .655 from .20 entry or 228% which came to about $6800 for me.
Just because I saw it on the Scottrade hod list and knew it was a big former runner in the past.
I see someone in the chat is recommending dumping Scott and moving on to tos.Yes,go ahead,don't ever think about mastering reading the hod list.
500 measley bucks keeps you in Scott,sheesh.Then move your rest over to tos or ib so you can short some of these.

Newbs should be very careful playing in ah and pre imo.
It's hard enough just during regular hours.

The 21 listed above are pretty strong watches imo.
SPAR had awesome tankage after it's 11/5 run,junky stock run again,red candle out of ubb
CMLS has run from .33 to 2.21 in a month.Look at those red candles before that run,from 3.27 to that .33!
Look a the WOLF chart,what do you see,a 5 day run in early Nov from 1.36 to 2.09 then down .72 3 weeks late.
Then from that .72 to 1.13 then down to .62
And if you know RSI2,the way I've taught it,you'll see RSI2 was over 90 both days,11/4 and 11/28 at 96 and the candle was miles away from the upper bollinger band,in fact 1/2 way at the best.One of the best telltale signs that a fall should be very close.
PLD,just an unreal run,looks like it will breakdown but hasn't yet.

Another thing,this was a comment I made back on a 11/20 post....
"I didn't just first short LEA today,I first shorted it at 1.40 on 11/14 then added another full at 1.50
then on 11/18 I added another full at 1.40 and then added a fourth full today at 1.14 and a fifth at 1.31.
So I'm in average short at 1.35 on a $17.5k position"
Why it pays to have a larger acct,or play smaller positions on smaller acct's, and not trade with "scared money"...that is a big position for me but when LEA ran big on me I never wavered..it's junk,these shorts most always come down,now I'm in the money nice with a 1.20 close today.Greedy yes.i'm holding
One more thing...
New folks want to know how I catch the big runs....I've said it 100's of times...I CANNOT TRADE without the scottrade scrolling hod list...do you hear that newbs! THAT is how I catch them PLUS I run scans nightly(for years!) and I know the ones that can run...I run hundreds of charts a week..If you think this is easy,sorry,it ain't....like it's it's been said before...get serious or I'll and others that know the game inside out will take your money...newbs get serious or play the AAPL's of the world....these stocks aren't just fun and games,they will wipe your acct if you don't know what you are doing..STUDY STUDY STUDY......

It takes time to learn them but it's a must if using the HOD list and you want to maximize your profits....
As soon as Laura and I saw WGAT hit that list,we said to each other,"oh man,this could be good!"
We both knew it from the past as one that can zoom when it starts to crank up.
In the logs you'll see it was alerted soon after the open around .16 and followed up on it's run to hod .345
On the Green on the Screen blog you'll even see "importance of knowing former runners" listed on the right under "Important Posts"
It's also listed under Mike's great post,also over on right named I'm Gonna Try (13th's Methods)
In it Mike says as his first 2 important things to him for successful trading.....
1. I can not live without the scrolling Scott hod lists.
2. KNOWING former runners and stocks that have hit these scans I run more than normal stocks do.
Because that blog isn't updated frequently folks may think it's a dead blog...IT IS NOT, the purpose of that blog is to archive what I've learned over decades of trading, therefore it's a learning tool to be saved and read over and over, especially for the newer folks that come into chat...it's all there forever to be read, many questions I get over and over can be found there.
I know for a fact quite a few in chat have never even looked at it.

Some really good ones here for Monday I think;

MAXY not stopping on ubb run,has 9 straight up days,never up much in 1 day,just that "manip" look,keeps on going,rsi2 over 95 6 days in a row! 99 4 days! Seems to be under the radar as I haven't seen any news and not much mention of it on blogs or msg boards,hmmmm...watching this for a crack but not until I see a red hold..ib has borrows..up from 4.17 to 7.82 in 9 days..not bad
Finally closed CHUX at 2.01 from 2.94 short, was a great ride, probably be around 1 next time I look but gonna use the money now on a fresh play.
Just for fun look at the FREE chart...that's a classic...huge low float junk stock spike...then runs green next day but goes RED at under EVEN $2 mark.
Closes at 1.77.
FIRST day RED of any substance in 5 DAYS!
So the next day (you folks with the pdt rule are always asking for o/n holds, these are the kind that give nice risk/reward o/n) and closes at 1.38, real nice from anywhere under that $2 mark.
There's a few lessons to be read into this pattern and the stock that it is.
Closed up 20% on Friday so I'm following still.
Another thing, I've been emailed by a few as to why I only put GREEN stocks on my short watch. There's a simple answer....because I KNOW the ones that were red from the previous list AND I also have them on watch but I don't list them here, there are so many watches now...it's my job to know them, I do this for a living...if you get serious with this you'll know them too...scope the ones already that have hit red just watch if they've cracked serious support, that's the easiest way for me to go on red with these.
Then there's ones like NHWK, a watch on blog for 12/11.
On 12/10 it closed at 3.50 after hitting hod 4.04, on 12/11 it opened at 3.53 then went red and sank to close at 3.04, a real nice short.
So now it went up 22% Friday but it's not on my blog watch,why?...because compared to others it's not up that much, but do you think I don't have it in my mind as a short watch...sure do...look at the candle volatility in the last 3 days compared to past days...also look how it hit near 3.75 3 times in the last 3 days...see, it's sitting right near 3.75 come Monday open...you know I'm watching for a 3.75 fail.
You new folks to the chat...this takes work, don't ever think the market is just something you step into and expect to lazy your way through.
I get questions from newbies in chat that are basic, basic stuff and when they are asked if they've read any of the GOTS blog...they almost always respond...no, BUT I'm going to...yeah, ok...
You would not believe how many times we've been asked "where do we find the scrolling HOD list...."there's only 10 "important posts" listed on the GOTS blog.
The first one on there is "Mike's I'm gonna try" to explain but how many of you newbies ever read it?
Go to that post,what do you see as his #1 tip for him (newbs, he turned $30k into $350k in 7 months!), you see THIS:

Muddy showed me how it was possible to get 20,30,40,even over 50% profits in minutes to a few hours using this. Last week I caught MESA and LGND almost at the start of their runs.
Never had them on any lists,only saw them on the hod list."
And while I'm venting a bit,I love the guys that after an alert is put up they ask...long or short?..if you don't know what to watch for for a decision either way...really just stay out of it, to you it's a 50/50 coin flip, a GAMBLE...we folks that know what to watch for it's a calculated risk...not trying to be flip here, but it's how the veterans take YOUR money...study up so you can take mine.

A Bonehead Trade Gone Good aka "THE FLIP"
So I made a bonehead short of OREX Friday eod at 3.47.
In chat before open I said yikes I think I'm in trouble,everything was screaming in pre and I figured I might be in trouble...oh I was,OREX ran off to 4 quick,I covered at 4.02 for a 14% loss BUT I wanted to see the $4 hold,cause I was determined to try again ..but this time LONG.
I got a hold of that 4 mark at 4.10 so I flipped over long at 4.10,selling at 4.49(it hit 4.79,see I'm not that great with exits,like Tim says,you can do better) recouping 10% of that 14% initial loss.
It all adds up...and yes another reason the pdt rule stinks,no flexibility or your trades are gone

Another Note About Pre Gainers
HGSI..
When I first checked into pre this morning HGSI was up 390%,yes on only a few trades but still,this catches your eye.
Then I came back about an hour later,it was up still but at 70%
Then around 9:10 it was up 60%
Then with 10 minutes to go it was 45%
Then 2 minutes before open it was 39%
See a pattern?
I watch this stuff....all I knew was if HGSI started to pullback even a few % off its hods right after the open..it was mine short,900k borrows on ib,oh yeah,I couldn't wait
It quickly ran to the 2.50 range then started to pullback,I got my fill at 2.19 and watched it fall all the way down to pretty deep RED 1.55.
I covered at 1.75(green was 1.73)...for sure not the best entry or cover but 20%.
By no means earth shattering is 20% but it was a no sweat trade,never a doubt after the open drop.
And the angle is just another tool in the toolbox,the edge over a bunch of traders,that's all you need..the edge

WATCHES 12/8
A bunch of stocks climbing rapidly right now,I'm listing my top 40 that when they start to decline should be worth the effort of following them.
I'm just hunting down those in my mind fall the furtherest,the fastest.
These are listed in order of highest ADR10 to lowest......
You can also compare the ADR10 to the ADR30 to find the "hottest" stocks in the last week or so.
Alot of folks don't understand how important this is but here's the deal.....
I KNOW which ones are without even having to look.
Why?....cause I'm watching the market/stocks every minute from premartket around 8:30 am to the close at 4 pm.EVERY trading day!
That is a HUGE advantage.
I know when I take even 2 days off in the past...I come back and I feel lost concerning what's been hot.
If you work and can't follow the intraday action well or at all,think about comparing different ADR periods against each other,it should give you a big advantage over those that don't.

I'm seeing alot of newer traders in the chat that don't understand the premise of this shorting process,I've seen it asked quite a few times if stock XYZ is a short now and the stock is hitting HODS,you're playing with fire if you short at or near hods,you wait for a technical breakdown,whatever you use or RED.
These stocks we find in our scans are set up as stocks that have risen theoretically too far too fast.
Wait for some kind of confirmation of a breakdown.
Shorting near hods certainly isn't confirmation.

Seeing all the talk about FRZ on various blogs,I gotta post this..
FRZ types(huge intraday swings aka big dayrangers) are risky no doubt but if you trade these like "normal" stocks you either shouldn't or adapt some rules...
Just my opinion,too many folks have no idea these are DIFFERENT than 90% of the stocks tradeable but yet treat them the same way.
To optimize playing these kind...
1. you need enough in your account to beat the pdt rule
2.you need to take no more than 10% of your account in each one on the 1st enter
3.you need to use market orders when possible when entering
4.you need to use MENTAL stops
5.you need to use WIDE stops
6.you need the confidence to add to shorts of the "crap" stocks you short that first go against you(why you enter smallish at first and need a larger account)
7.you need to stop watching every tick
8.you need to stop trading with scared money,the object isn't to break even..it's to hit the big scores or be CONSISTENT trade after trade with smaller gains
9.you need the flexibility to "flip" a trade in midstream and the confidence to do so
10. you NEED to do your homework,don't rely on anyone else..run the scans,LEARN the stocks you are trading,over time watch the behavior of these stocks
11.you need to have a broker that gives you the borrows..I WANT the stock now that I want to short...not the 2nd,3rd or 4th choice
12.you need to look at the LOWER float stocks first if you are scalping these dayrangers.
13.you need to pay attention to EVEN dollar marks on these low priced ones
Most important,you need account size and less exposer in just one stock,lessons the scared money thing...they all add up over time,just keep plugging away.
If you can't follow most of these rules,I'd say trade way less volatile stocks...without these rules you're hunting down Godzilla with a peashooter

A SCAN FOR LOSERS
Now that the market is starting to turn around a bit (so far) this scan can find some nice potential longs,if one waits for green.
It finds stocks that have lost at least 8% in the last day,at least 10% over the last 2 days plus stocks not down that much over 1 or 2 days but are "failures",meaning they are stringing together down days after hitting this scan days ago.
They failed to close green,hence failures.
The scan ranks them in the order of highest to lowest % of times they have run 10% or more in the last 100 days.
If you wish add ADR10 and/or ADR30 columns and it becomes a neat little scan.
A stock Il Torello talks about on his blog today,SAH,hit this scan on 11/24 and is up 112% since.
This scan is a play off the RFR scan and like that scan this RFR Loser scan was coded and given to me by Avery Horton aka TheRumpledOne.

ADDED A BLOG LINK
We've just added Adam Brooks' Blog to our side bar.
I didn't even know until last night that Adam/Tortexal (on GOTS) had a blog(duh on me!)
This blog is way amazing for the way we trade!
Charts,all the SF scans (with explanations on how to use them!) including RFR,Combo,dayrangers,Watchlists,scan for increasing volatility ..plus great articles such as his trade desk setup,when to trade sideway movement,what time of day is best to go long or short,an interesting way to play the premarket leaders (GKK post from 11/1) and on and on and on!
This is hands down the best blog I've ever read regarding how we trade.

The volatility in the market just keeps on getting better every week.
For the high dayrangers to make the list of around the top 40 last week they needed an ADR10 of 19.5%...this week to make that list it jumped big to 23.5%...this is a daytraders dream

For the high dayrangers to make the list of around the top 40 last week they needed an ADR10 of 19.5%...this week to make that list it jumped big to 23.5%...this is a daytraders dream

If you can get the $10k and serious about shorting IB is the one!
First of all their premarket scan rocks.
If you were in chat today (or read the log later) you saw I said GNVC was my top watch as it was way swishy over there in pre.
The best plays are often the ones you DON'T get on your scans at night and GNVC was no exception.
So on it's breakdown of $1 I go short at .95 with 3000 shares.
But almost all brokers won't allow under $1 shorts.
BUT of course IB does and I did.
I covered near eod at .62 for nearly a $1000 on a stock i'd never been watching and one I doubt I'd get borrows on from very few brokers!
The stock I talked about 11/17 VTEX,the Beacon/Quality Stocks "venture" had gone from .63 to .39 that day.
THAT was the good news...today it "eased" on down to .18 losing another 61%.
Don't believe any of that crap pump/junk...you know how they say "I got a bridge to sell ya?"
Speaking of bridges while I'm ranting...MTTG was the huge pump during Minnesota bridge distaster..so I researched it...they had 2 freaking service trucks to service the "thousands" of bridges around the country...now the stock sits at .002 from near 2,basically worthless...just like FESI,that was gonna have "ginormous news now any day" since trading at $1 in September,it's been on a slide since then and I know of folks that have bought on the way down...today was the death blow,down 72% at .008,yup .008......WORTHLESS too.

On a funny note,I got an email this morning on VTEX from http://www.qualitystocks.net, a "partner client" of Beacon Research.....as soon as I saw the words " mineral lease in southern Turkey", I knew it was gonna be fun.

THE VALUE OF THE CHAT
Why it's important to not have too much chit chat during trading hours,so that one can see alerts more easily.
VIP was just one example yesterday.
It was first alerted by Tortexal as getting near green(note:the timestamp is not correct in the log yesterday,but you get the idea)
(Oct 27-16:14) tortexal: VIP almost green
Then Laura and I both chimed in less than a minute later.
(Oct 27-16:47) tortexal: VIP pop HOD
(Oct 27-16:48) Laura: yes VIP
(Oct 27-16:48) Muddy: yes
Then because knowing well VIP from the past I commented:
(Oct 27-16:48) Muddy: runs good at times on green hit
(Oct 27-15:07) Muddy: VIP no doubt should break 8,hit more hods
VIP not only ran well on green at 7.40, it ran great.
It did break the $8 mark and ran to a hod of 9.07 at eod.

Shorting Pigs Not Financials/Banks
I just read noobtrader's posts about his SPAR shorts this week. I too shorted SPAR and covered too soon. Shorted 10/2 at 3.39 and covered 10/7 at 3.02 thinking it might bounce off 3 the next day. Bad cover as it turns out. And out of line with the way I usually short piggy stocks. This does not include sectors like the financials/banks/insurance which are basically gambles right now.
If I had stuck to my normal lazy method (learned from Muddy, ha) I'd still be short SPAR as it sits at 2.67 today at the close. We normally just let them run down for awhile, usually no stress trades. LOOK FOR THE PIGS, not the newsy rollercoaster stocks. Yes, you can trade those if you are very experienced. I'm not.
BTW, what I mean by lazy is this.........Muddy and I traded JADE several times early in the year in the $4-5 range. Where is it now? 50 cents! Let em sink. They will. Choose the right ones and let them sink.
Now if we get a huge rally tomorrow, maybe these will run, but they won't run up like fin/banks. I'm up enough I can cover early and keep most of my profits.
All these short from last week, 9/30-10/3
CALC short 2.45 now 1.52 gain +38%
EFJI short 1.66 now 1.43 gain +14%
GRRF short 2.14 now 1.06 gain +50%
No reason to cover until I see green.

WATCHES 10/7
VRNM HTLJ OPXA APCVZ DNDN SLXP CBM CALP ACHN AHC TSTR MEU COA TRXI COR PWRM
PWRM was a crazy one back in 4/04,remember it well from back there.
Went from about .32 to 8 then smoked out all the way down to .20 on a long and beautiful fall.
Has re appeared here with "news".
SIL, I still won't cover until it has held green by 10:30...down another 6% at 1.76 for a paper gain of $4300..love these gradual droppers.
Still short with EFJI SPAR GRRF CALC APCVZ and doing well.
2 I tried but couldn't get FORSY HBOOY have gotten wiped.it's ok,there's more out there.
LOCM,i knew I covered too early on this dog,down another 20% at 1.79 after hitting new 52 wk/lows at 1.31..bow wow.
Covered too early on CHCI,but for 41% gain on this swishy one so I don't feel bad.
Down another 17% today so gotta watch long on green here.

HOW I FIND THE DARKSIDE WATCHES
To answer numerous requests on this subject,here goes:
First I keep on the list ALL "failures" from the day before.
Failures are the ones if you are watching short,that FAIL to close down(red).
So all the green closes are kept,from the previous days watchlist.
The first scan I run everynight is "gained 15% in last 2 days".
Then because it is very possible to miss some of todays huge gainers with this scan, (can you see why?),I run the "gained 8% in 1 day" scan.
Then I start a scan at "gained 40% in last 5 days" (and keep toggling around the days and %'s to try and find the longer term gradual gainers).
I will also run this scan to find the dreaded "red candle above the upper bollimger band".........
stocks where close is above upper bollinger band(20)and close is below open and price is between .5 and 20 and volume is greater than 200000.
The 8% in 1 day and 15% in 2 days I start with the price between $1 and $20, then on the 15%/2 days I run the scan with price adjusted to .01 to $1 to find the whacky real pennies.
A few folks have said I put up too many watches...it is to my benefit to do so.
I have no crystal ball with the price action these will take let alone whether they will EVEN BE TRADABLE,given the volume and the spread on any given day.
Out of 20 watches only maybe 5 or so may be tradeable,I know this for a fact,day in and day out this happens,it is the way with this kind of stock.
I have no problem at all watching the number of watches I put up.
Also I chart every new one that hits the scan,only failures I need not chart...I get the feeling that the folks that just want 5 or so watches don't even take it serious enough to chart even 5,this blog doesn't hand feed the picks..sorry a little work is needed on ones part.

The last 6,all under a dollar,pretty sketchy but low volume so far.
Since I can't find that many that are shortable for Monday I'll add these..so far all were/are shortable on ib except for ASCQ as of the moment.
VRNM has opened higher now 5 days in a row and fell since getting bombed on 9/29
From Watches 10/3 post Thurs, CHCI FRNTQ CPWM FORSY GRRF NXTM all got hit pretty good all over 10%.
Perhaps the nicest play on the list was APCVZ for those of us that could watch.
It took off after open going from 1.20 zooming all the way to DEAD EVEN 2.
Some of us got in short after it started backing down.
Myself I took it from 1.74 all the way down to it's close at DEAD EVEN 1 for a cool 42%.
The others mentioned I was holding short :
EFJI up .05 to 1.85
CHCI entry at .75,smoked down and I took good profit at .44 near eod for nice 41%
SPAR entry at 3.50,sitting at 3.60 now
GRRF entry at 2.18 down decent to close at 1.87
CALC entry at 2.55,sitting at 1.97 now
LOCM,down more 7%...covered way too early,oh well
SIL still in with $3600 profit,tomorrow I'll take profit finally if i see any green hold on it

SIL UPDATE and LAST NIGHTS WATCHLIST KICKED BUTT!
Added another $4k short on the SIL green pop today at 2,coming down from 2.17.
I'm in now with $14k worth,average around 2.55 with 5400 shares.
At the closing price today of 1.72, gain is about $4400 so far.
With the dow up 500 points,still last nights watchlist smoked it,
24 watches, only 7 finished in the green.
The most amazing thing is,out of the 17 that finished red......11 were double digit losses with 6 red 20% or more.

I added a 3rd full position today on the green spike on the way down at 2.49...now in over $10k with 3400 shares @ average price of 2.95.
With the 1.97 close at lod today up $3330.
This was a TRUE supernova,no way I scalped for .30 cents or whatever on just 1 full position...these don't come along often.
I said many times in chat I thought we'd see the 1's by Monday or Tues,today we did

IDEV hit a high of 3.80 just a little later.
I took 45% on the first trade from 2.02 to 2.90 and 16% from the 2nd trade, 3.05 to 3.55.
Total of 61% or $2400 from a stock that was no where near any of my watch lists until it hit pre after 9am Friday.
This is the kinda stuff that let Mike13th grow his account to $350k from $50k in a matter of months.

WATCHES 9/26

NMGC down another 36%,wow
SIL continues down... to 2.56,chopped off another 20% today
VRML a watch 9/23 and 9/24 had that 3 day pattern,big 2 day run then open gap 3rd day then later in day went red where a few caught it in the 2.10/2.20 area got crushed today to .90 down 58%.
This pattern continues to be one of the best,especially for huge gains...imo if you are trading on a small account,these are the ones to wait for/play.
Leave the banks/financials to those who can afford to take the gamble with the larger accounts.
One big bad hit on those with the small acct can leave you with nothing to trade...no kidding.
Also from last nights watches UQM FRG JYHW finally cracked and all have more downside left imo.
And lastly there was TRX.
Yeah you are probably getting tired of hearing it a regular reader but it is simply amazing.
But I'm not tired of shorting it right out of the gate when it hits pre leader board.
Up 18% in pre it opened from yesterday close .24 to .28 and finished down 21% to .19 at lod.
