What is the purpose of the Watch List and the Day Rangers? I follow the stocks you provide prior to the open and trade on that info.

Just wondering.

Good question...some of these things I think I know (after a month of following along) but not always sure.

Another question I would have is... I know here you must be able to daytrade..Does anyone have a system on how to do this the best... if you are just playing with the 3 in a 5 day rule.

As you first begin to visit the room you soon notice that some do most of the pre-work and some do helpful niche research and post the results ...The best you can do as a newbie is stay out of the way and hang on.

I would assume eveyone does their own pre research on the info provided the night before and early morning and most everyone has that info in front of them...question... 3 trades and you have to make them work and can't you take many chances...any advice on how to increase your odds of picking the right ones Early by reading and keying on the chatter? By what time are most folks already on their pick? Do you not always pick early or do you hold back and look for possible later runs? From going back and studing the chat charts it seems on most days that by 10 ET. the smart traders are keyed in already.

Any advice someone would like to throw out to us newbies would be nice. Hopefully it will be only a matter of time before we can contribute more that just thank you...

As an example ..
Wed Dec 31_10:00:34 EST 2008] deadjim PNX more

Not sure if that was the exact first post but it came early and somewhat often but..from the time this symbol was brought up it was taking off like a rocket and no one seemed to really be interested even though Deadjin keep bringing it up...

If you go back and look at its day range and Hod you will see it went straight up from the open,,,made great money but except for a few mentions later in the room it really didn't get the sharks attention like some stocks do while it was on its great run. ...

I was just wondering is there a reason on how that happened? I understand you can't catch them all but this stock seemed to be made for this room and no one seemed to notice.

A high five to Deadjim for trying to get everyone on the deal...

Guess the question which ties into..."how to get on the right stock faster is" ...what is done or how is it done to get the rooms attention on a great stock like this one Friday..I

don't think there is any one thing that is done... but I am sure some of you have your way...and I would love to hear it...

Thanks

Navyblue: The watch list posted on the dark side blog are stocks that could turn into potential short opportunities in the near future. If they do not start to fail, they can also turn into great long opportunities if they start to run.

The day rangers are stocks that have a tendency to be be fairly volatile intraday. This allows for a higher probability of capturing some decent gains from them.

Anony: if you are under the pdt rule you really have to be selective on what trades you enter. Mike 13th's post on Pre Market leader Drops can be a great way to maximize risk/reward.

To your other point, sometimes we just miss plays. We're watching a lot of data during the day and will miss good opportunities from time to time as a result. Too bad tho, PNX had a great run!

I like your very interesting post. As an economics student I do understant with such articles that the economic models being taught in the classroom are too simplistic
