WATCHES 12/29
I'm going up put up my trades for Friday,I don't like to do this but will here because I get so many folks asking like 1 or 2 hours later, after the stock alert has many times run, asking,"is stock XXX still a buy".
With these trades look at a 1 minute chart and see where I saw them and alerted and bought.
I don't know 60 mins+ if they are still buys,I have no crystal ball,I'm just playing what I saw at the moment, reacting to it...I'm using a trailing stop most times by then and looking to get out with a decent profit.
long SRZ at 1.39...sold at 1.74
[Fri Dec 26_09:28:51 EST 2008] Muddy GMA RXII JNY LEA SRZ GPM EROC JRT F FCZ YRCW NUVO WAVE AVII JAG AHT CVP STEM ANPI NT OMCM
[Fri Dec 26_09:37:44 EST 2008] Muddy SRZ yes, news i think

[Fri Dec 26_10:05:32 EST 2008] Muddy vol spike
[Fri Dec 26_10:06:03 EST 2008] Muddy vol double [Fri Dec 26_09:38:37 EST 2008] Muddy big run

[Fri Dec 26_09:43:46 EST 2008] Muddy good vol,2.05

[Fri Dec 26_12:45:44 EST 2008] Muddy more
[Fri Dec 26_12:46:55 EST 2008] Muddy .55/.57
This animal went on to hit hods at .78 minutes before the close!
Why did I alert and enter MDTL.....hmmmm,BECAUSE I KNOW IT AS A FORMER RUNNER AND IT HIT SCOTT HOD LIST AND WAS JIGGY IN THE QUOTE BOX.....sound familiar??
long JRT at 1.01...sold at 1.25
Again see above for the premarket list plus JRT was on my watchlist 2 days in a row 12/22 12/19 which means I had it charted and knew of its run well last week.
[Fri Dec 26_11:45:27 EST 2008] Muddy finally 1
[Fri Dec 26_11:46:00 EST 2008] Muddy over 1
[Fri Dec 26_11:57:42 EST 2008] Muddy nice 1 cross so far,on pre
If you've read anything by me you know I love the even dollar crosses,1 buck crosses a big deal to me
JRT went on to hit hod 1.40
long JAG at 4.10...sold at 4.63
Again,on the pre list,4 cross,hot sector of the day,mining
[Fri Dec 26_14:16:01 EST 2008] Muddy also miner 4 cross,from pre,hod
[Fri Dec 26_14:52:02 EST 2008] Muddy pushing nice now

long HPSO at .93...sold at 1.21
On my watches here 3 days.
[Fri Dec 26_09:45:24 EST 2008] Muddy near 1….big pump
[Fri Dec 26_09:52:09 EST 2008] Muddy 1
[Fri Dec 26_09:52:14 EST 2008] Muddy its huge pump
I said quite a few times in afterhours chat HPSO is one of the biggest pumps out there now.
I even provided the link here in the chat more than once.
I wasn't even waiting for the $1 cross on this, just anticipating this pump to have more, considering how jiggy it was in the quotebox and the incoming volume.
[Fri Dec 26_10:45:12 EST 2008] Yngvai 1 cross
[Fri Dec 26_10:45:47 EST 2008] Muddy yes [Fri Dec 26_10:05:32 EST 2008] Muddy jig .63
Easy if know what to look for on FNM FRE,so fast flipping it was putting blue lines right through the symbol in the scott quote box, only those with Scott would know what i mean, but believe me that is "super jig"
long SIL at 1.13...sold at 1.30
If you've been around since Sept then you know the fun we had with it then.
Last week 15th highest dayranger
[Fri Dec 26_12:08:43 EST 2008] stonespeaks cross 10/60 up
Great alert by stonespeaks, price was 1.07 at the time on the 10/60,look at a chart you'll also see a volume spike about 30 minutes late while pps remained almost the same at 1.09 and then 30 minutes later SIL was a rocket going from 1.09 to hod 1.43
[Fri Dec 26_13:29:44 EST 2008] InvestorsLive nice on [Fri Dec 26_13:33:22 EST 2008] Muddy nice alert
IL and I both commented SIL nice alert, this still while it was in the 1.11/1.15 range.
So 10 for 10 on the longs, now 2 losers I traded, both to the short side
short CBL at 6.93...covered at 7.46
CBL has/had a big run chart, steady climber all Dec,a double in that time.
I shorted on red and the breakdown of 7 at the time,as you can see I was wrong.
short LCAPA at 4.68...covered at 5.23
Shorted on red as LCAPA looked to me as it was going on a breakdown after going from 3.33 to a high of 5.13 Wednesday.
Wrong again.
But still 10 out of 12 with real good gains on the winners on a day described by one as "boring"
[Fri Dec 26_12:23:51 EST 2008] anon: no valume in market
[Fri Dec 26_12:23:58 EST 2008] anon:
Like I said, check the 1 minute charts, you'll see I traded and alerted very near the beginning of the runs...all because I had some nice ones on watch,I use and know HOW to use the Premarket scanner, and mainly because I use the Scott hod list and the quote box to my advantage along with my knowledge of former runners.
All stuff anyone can learn in time,"caveman" trading at it's best!
And to this guy who commented.....
Some 30 50 100%+
So,Anon, Don't trust me,but if you're smart you'd look into some of this stuff...but then again,I said "if",sooooooooooo

Hey Muddy,
Hope you're having a nice weekend! I have shorted HSNI a couple of times this past week, and was wondering if there's any reason it's first on your list. I understand your watchlist, but wondered if there was a rhyme or reason to the actual order (ie. greatest potential short to lowest risk/reward?)
Thanks,

It's not always about shorting. HSNI is just a great day ranger and could go either direction when it is "triggered". It could easily shoot up again if it breaks last weeks highs or drop if it breaks support.

nice trading muddy. this is very educating to me in finding entry points. it is like you said, it is all about quote box, premarket list, hod list, high dayragers, and former runners. thanks a lot for your help.

Muddy,
Thank you for the information.
I have set-up my chart - 5 minute intervals, but only can choose 2 or 5 days - no 2 1/2 or 3. Which should I choose?
Thank you.

Evan,
No real order of the watches, except my ritual stays the same...
I look at the watches from last night, see the ones that were "failures" i.e were green, then run my SF scans of up 8% at least and rank by % up,charting the ones that were up big(like at least 25% on the day),then run a scan of 15% in last 2 days, then run the pennies,25% up in last 2 days(under $1)and rank in order of % up,then chart.
So that's the order you will see.
I don't like to rank by greastest potential short(that I feel) because I feel too many folks get hung up on just watching 1,2 or 3 stocks.
I try in my mind to treat them all the same,to just watch and let the market show me where the stock seems to be going.
Up to then I try to treat all the watches the same..I feel it's not what I think,it's what the market thinks.
Jeff,
In your case I'd go with 2 days.
TJ7,
Thanks,I found it funny, the anon comment..been trading so long, the thicker my skin becomes..
In fact, this link is killing me right now...

Did you know we frontrun these?
NVD DVAX ANSV NEXM listed as examples, millions of shares trade on thier moves and we manipulate them...wow,if only! - December 28, 2008 at 8:14 PM

That is a funny post on the message board. Pump and dumps are a real problem (or opportunity), but the chat room doesn't even really have the scale or focus or coordination (let alone the nefarious intentions) to manipulate stocks too greatly. I'm sure there must be some effect now and then on the lower volume stocks, but the alerts in chat are so numerous, rapid fire and they're just alerts - not specific buy or sell orders - it doesn't even come close to having the same effect as like an Beacon email or even a Tim alert.
It's pretty wild how these pharm and biotech stocks have run lately, you could add EPIX and ANPI to the list above. - December 28, 2008 at 9:22 PM

Muddy,
Thank you for sharing your actual trades, I learn a lot from being able to look back at what happened for the day... As for the "STUPID" comments... No... I did not find it a boring day.. and the one that said "Don't trust this guys???" Hell... Anyone worth his or her salt would check out your track record before... well you know... There's a lot of new people coming in very quickly, they are going to be skeptical... They will either figure it out, or they won't, either way... Their comments without knowledge or research?... Don't matter.
Thanks for all you do for us!
