Odd change in personality IMH - I don't believe anyone ever said there are traders better than you - infact, I've traded for 10 years and only know one other trader I'd consider your equal. The sudden 'I don't care what you think' defensive tone of that comment above does not sound like what I'd expect from a 60+ year old, but come on, what do you expect with a no-heads up bam, pay up or leave change to the site?
My argument is that chats are best as a community, as a large group working together scratching all alerts possible - you lose that by charging people as it suddenly becomes a 'you owe me' mentality with an unwillingness to help others. It takes away from what chats are meant to be. That's all I have to say about that. Shame the way this went down but good luck with it.

Well you believe wrong,see it WAS said,not the only thing you are wrong about..you don't walk in my shoes.you don't know about family health problems with no insurance that I cover for them,you don't know how much I donate to the local animal shelters both that will benefit from my teaching now on IL chat..you no nothing about the near 2000 members i taught for free on the SF yahoo blog,nor the hundreds of folks on my old chat,the one from 2003,nor the hundreds of posts and filters since 2003 on SF...you got no history here except to whine.
So I spend over 20 hours a week looking at charts and still posting free here and on GOTS and explain over and over the SAME questions to the SAME people that were freebies...too lazy to even read anything on those blogs or to do a simple search OR to read the "important" posts We set up on the blog to make it easier,before asking me over and over...
That's over now,only serious non lazy people now...if that hurts you and your "community", sorry.

Muddy--I'm very sorry to see you go to a paid chat, but I certainly don't blame you. Even though I'm a newbie, I've taken the time to go back through both Darkside and GotS blogs and lurked in the chat room trying to soak up the shared wisdom without pestering you all with stupid newbie questions.
I do appreciate that you're still posting the watch list--although I'm already using the SF filters you all have shared it's nice to have the "official" list to verify against!
Someday I hope to have the capital to make subscribing to your chat room worth my while, but as long as I'm still bound by the @*%& PDT rule it's rather expensive for something I can only use once a week on average.

And I've said this in AH chat a bunch,if you only stay a month or so and then get it on your own,just move on,it's a cheap education,but one you will have all your life...folks think i'm trying to pressure them in..i'm not at all...learn then go,that's why when i say i don't really care that is why it's mis understood as being flip.
Just learn and go unless you like the alerts in the chat,to me you are adults to make your own choice..if the sub rate is too high to get some knowledge then so be it but think of the cost of another profession education..and I think of stocktrading as a profession,one of the best,the freedom!
Muddy those are my comments not th26er's.... I claw to make a living at trading, I work very hard at it every day and I have been able to live off it for 5 years now. I have been trading for 7 years total.
I was lucky enough to fall in with a group of traders that I chat with every day via skype. Three of them are your equal or better... I can only make this assumption because I dont know the details of your account, I can only go by your alerts and blog and make a rough estimate.... you may very well be superior to my associates but im guessing at the very least you and them are in the same annual % return ball park.
No one can be the best trader in the world so its just a fact that there are many traders at your skill level and many traders above your skill level.
I wont spam your site, I posted on each blog once about a chat room that was seeking to capture what people loved about the old muddy chat room... a come as you please stay as long as you like free place to share ideas.
Without a doubt you were the star of the room and i hope your new situation works for the best.

Muddy...I've learned absolutely TONS from you as well as Laura and 13th. I enjoy education and value it so much because once it's yours, it cannot be taken away. The subscription rate is not much considering it's just tuition that will help a person make thousands upon thousands of dollars, maybe even millions. I'm forever grateful and humbled. Thanks Muddy.

muddy & Laura, in the two months I have been in your chat room, I got the sense of genuinity.
I think the disappointment from your followers was the apporoach that was taken to move it to a paid service. I honestly would have paid to be in your service even if it was not for long, if it was just you and Laura and maybe Tort, but IL hmmm him I'm not so sure.
I currently pay about $150 per month for differnt subscibtions, after seeing what you do, it would have been worth it but just coz IL is part of it I will not join.
I hope he does not take advantage of you. Muddy YOU truly are a good trader, I just regret not finding out about your sight sooner.

I am relatively new to the site, and have no issues with the fact that it is now a paysite. You need to do what you need to do.
As to the quote above, I have several thoughts. I did chart the recommendations over the weekend. I still do not know how to do the pre-market deal (scan). I am making money. However, I am having a difficult time understanding when to pull the trigger. From the above quote, I could not tell when you made the decision to go in.
The point is that we all know that certain stocks which gap up or down in pre, may not continue to move after the open.
Maybe it is just experience. However, it would be very helpful if there was some way of knowing when other traders are making a move, including you.
As to the pre-market scan, I could sure use some help. I use Ameritrade and Stockfetcher. Do I have to open another account?

That's how much I really want you to learn and how much confidence I have in our site to help you learn.

You are a true champion, a man above many in my book. I understand you've thought this decision out long and hard and made a careful choice. I also understand you had much more lucrative offers than a $39 sub rate you're getting now, but you chose this route to be able to continue what you do, in the manner in which you'd like to do it. To those of us who agree that this is a fair price to pay to learn a PROVEN system I for one would love to here more about the new site and where you think it will evolve. Will it be pretty much like the old site or any new bells and whistles planned.
Also what are the options for those of us who just don't get it all and want to understand it quicker. Will there ever be an offer for paid fast track training by one of your trained people?

For those of you that did not sign up for the trial sub, I'd just like to share a few things. Muddy has spent several evenings this week patiently going through what he specifically looks at and looks for to see when stocks are getting ready to move. We are having a Muddy seminar on Sunday night starting at 8pm and lasting until..
Also, seminars may increase to 4 vs 2 per month, along with having videos and audio. Not much has been said positive for IL. IL appears to be the IT guru behind the scenes getting this site set up and keeing it running. IL has dedicated a lot of time to make this a great site. Big kudos to him, also. Think about this, I've spent $39 and more on books to learn about trading - this is like having a new trading book coming to you constantly online.
